Scientists at the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases (CCCBD) and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, have been awarded a highly competitive translational research grant of $600,000 from The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Nile Therapeutics, Inc., a company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for heart failure patients, today announced that it has completed the dose escalation stage of an ongoing Phase II study of CD-NP in patients with acute decompensated heart failure. Nile had previously announced that the study, NIL-CDNP-CT005, was expanded to permit additional dose exploration prior to proceeding to larger Phase II studies.
For many people with advanced cardiac insufficiency, a heart transplant may be their only hope. But waiting for a donor heart to come along is a race against time.
Occupational exposure to magnetic fields (MF) may be associated with "moderately increased risk" of certain neurodegenerative diseases—including Alzheimer's and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, reports the February Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, official publication of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM).
