The Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics has been received one of 50 pilot project awards by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to study stakeholder views of streamlined informed consent options for comparative effectiveness research (CER) studies.
After an assessment of health and well-being of Americans in 2011 – known as Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, it was found that among the 50 U.S. states, Hawaii, with a score of 70.2, tops the list with the highest level of well-being. This is the third year in a row that Hawaii has come in first.
Sleep quality may have an impact on the severity of lower urinary tract symptoms, or LUTS, in some men, according to new research presented during the 110th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association.
A University of Cincinnati physician-researcher says unlocking the key to how platelets function before, after and during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) may provide insight as to why some patients undergoing the heart procedure have better outcomes than others.
