Gilead Sciences closes $2.2 billion convertible senior notes sale

Gilead Sciences, Inc. today announced the closing of its sale of $1.1 billion aggregate principal amount of 1.00% convertible senior notes due 2014 and $1.1 billion aggregate principal amount of 1.625% convertible senior notes due 2016 to qualified institutional buyers in accordance with Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended.
