The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria on Wednesday said an investigation by the group's Inspector General into grants in Cambodia "uncovered credible and substantive evidence of serious financial wrongdoing, on procurement and other issues," Agence France-Presse reports.

Haiti cholera epidemic abates

The rate of deaths in Haiti's cholera epidemic slowed on Monday. This followed a multinational medical operation scale up to limit the spread of an outbreak that has killed 259 people in the earthquake-hit country. However Haitian and international health authorities are still bracing for more cases before the epidemic is finally controlled. So far, the epidemic has mostly impacted two rural central Haitian provinces, Artibonite and Center, along with the few isolated cases in the capital Port-au-Prince. Suspected cases have also been reported in the Nord and Sud provinces.

Massage eases pain and anxiety after surgery

A 20-minute evening back massage may help relieve pain and reduce anxiety following major surgery when given in addition to pain medications, according to a report in the December issue of Archives of Surgery, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

New COVID-19 antigen test can be directly read from the testing card
