Infinity provides guidance on anticipated pipeline and business goals for 2011

Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today provided guidance on its anticipated pipeline and business goals for 2011. Infinity begins the year with a broad pipeline of four drug candidates in clinical development and a fifth expected to enter the clinic during the year. New Stat1 and interferon findings

By altering a molecule called Stat1, which is involved in cellular immune signaling, scientists have succeeded in making the molecule more responsive and thus more efficient. This old protein with a new twist may eventually be used to improve the body's defense against infection.

Laboratory model of immune system overcomes ethical constraints on studies of hematopoietic stem cells in humans

Scientists at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital have joined with colleagues at several other institutions to develop a laboratory model of the human immune system. This model will allow scientists to study ways for improving the results of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation without putting patients at risk.
