Researchers funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) have developed a new tool for detecting early pancreatic cancer.
The American Institute of Biological Sciences and the National Association of Biology Teachers are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership that will help advance the science and education policy interests of the biological sciences community. Through the arrangement, NABT members will be able to access and utilize a suite of AIBS public policy services and resources.
Cordis Corporation ("Cordis") announced today that it has reached an agreement with Boston Scientific ("Boston") resolving its Palmaz infringement suit relating to Boston's NIR stent, settling several other cardiology-related cases relating to patents in the Ding, Kastenhofer, Palmaz, and Fontirroche patent families, and exchanging paid-up licenses for certain intellectual properties.
A large study of hand and shoulder surgeries performed at a freestanding, outpatient center found few complications-0.2 percent in nearly 29,000 patients over an 11-year period. The study appears in the new issue of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
A new study conducted by researchers at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Korea, suggests that while having coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) during pregnancy has little effect on fetal or neonatal mortality, it can be associated with premature birth and sometimes severe outcomes for mother and baby, including death.
