In a large population-based study of randomly selected participants in Germany, researchers found that mild cognitive impairment (MCI) occurred significantly more often in individuals diagnosed with a lower ankle brachial index (ABI), which is a marker of generalized atherosclerosis and thus cumulative exposure to cardiovascular risk factors during lifetime.
Researchers at the Babraham Institute near Cambridge, supported by the Alzheimer's Research Trust and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), have discovered that the brain's circuitry survives longer than previously thought in diseases of ageing such as Alzheimer's disease.
SAS announced today that Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. (DSPA), a U.S. pharmaceutical company, has selected SAS Solutions OnDemand: Drug Development as a technology platform for clinical development. With SAS OnDemand, DSPA will have a globally accessible, fully regulatory compliant repository for all of its clinical data.
Congress has capped federal funding for the training of new doctors, and hospital officials are hoping to get that limit lifted.
