Loyola University Medical Center is the first Illinois hospital to use new 3-D vision technology for minimally invasive lung surgery.
Aetna President Mark Bertolini said Wednesday that his company has seen much slower sales of national insurance accounts where large employers pay Aetna to administer plans for employees, The Associated Press reports. Under the new health overhaul, Bertolini said he expected less movement in that market because of the uncertainty in the law.
A new study posted to the bioRxiv* preprint server followed the adaptive immune response in convalescent patients from Swedish and Italian cohorts—which had earlier shown long-lasting adaptive immune responses to the G614 strain—for 15 months. Here, specific antibody levels and neutralizing antibody titers were tested against variants of concern (VOCs).
At Rutgers' Stem Cell Research Center scientists are exploring the mysteries of human embryonic stem cells and their potential use in treating diseases, repairing damaged organs, and drug development. Center staff also offer a course in proper lab techniques in working with stem cells.
