Researchers at Children's Hospital Boston report that an enzyme known as Mst3b, previously identified in their lab, is essential for regenerating damaged axons (nerve fibers) in a live animal model, in both the peripheral and central nervous systems.
Tuberculosis is the world's leading infectious disease and it accounts for one in three deaths from HIV/AIDS, according to the World Health Organization's 2018 report on TB.
Repligen Corporation announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted a Notice of Allowance of a patent covering the use of uridine in the treatment of patients with bipolar disorder. The patent, which upon issue will remain in force until 2025 prior to any patent term extensions, covers the use of an effective dose of a uridine composition to improve one or more of the symptoms of bipolar disorder including depression, mania, mixed episodes, hypomania and anxiety.
Merge Healthcare, a health IT solutions leader, today announced it will be showcasing it's expanded suite of innovative solutions and support of comprehensive continuing education programs for the advancement of women's imaging at the National Conference on Breast Cancer (NCBC) 2010.
