The United States Agency for International Development has pledged $1.2 million in support for national poliomyelitis vaccination campaigns across Central Asia to fight the first outbreak of polio in the region since 2002.
A new study has shown that some brain cells actually slow down if a person has not got adequate sleep at night. This leads to periods of mental lapses. Researchers of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Tel Aviv University have proven this in their published study that appeared in the journal Nature Medicine online this Monday (6th of November 2017).

They believe unhealthy behaviour can make procedures less likely to work, and that the service is not obliged to devote scarce resources to them.

In addition, the report shows that a black infant in Michigan is 70% more likely to be born prematurely than an infant of any other race.
Inter Press Service reports on the G20's recent working meeting on commodities in Buenos Aires. "The meeting was organised to address the causes of the new upward trend in food prices, including the growing demand in China and India, financial speculation and growing production of biofuels," IPS writes.
