NeoPharm, Inc. today announced the results of a Phase I clinical trial of Liposome Encapsulated Docetaxel (LE-DT) an active component of Taxotere® at a joint International Conference of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) being held in Boston, MA.
Adocia, a biotechnology company specializing in the development of ‘best-in-class' medicines from already approved therapeutic proteins, announced today that it had agreed with Eli Lilly and Company not to continue further joint research under the licensing agreement signed in December 2011 relating to use of Adocia's BioChaperone(R) technology for the formulation of fast acting insulin analog formulated with the BioChaperone(R) technology. Consequently, the two companies have terminated the collaboration.
Neogenix Oncology, Inc. announced today that it will present data from its new serum biomarker ELISA utilizing its NPC-1C antibody for patients with colorectal and pancreatic cancers. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School believe they may have found a new treatment for retinitis pigmentosa, a severe neurodegenerative disease of the retina that ultimately results in blindness. One of the more common retinal degenerative diseases, RP is caused by the death of photoreceptor cells and affects 1 in 4,000 people in the United States. RP typically manifests in young adulthood as night blindness or a loss of peripheral vision and in many cases progresses to legal blindness by age 40.
