Surgical Information Systems ("SIS"), a leader in perioperative information systems, announced today that Ardent Health Services of Nashville, Tenn. will expand its system-wide use of the SIS Solution to include anesthesia automation, analytics and patient tracking on a single perioperative record.
A new technique for transplanting the ovaries of women who have lost their fertility as a result of cancer treatment was outlined to the 25th annual conference of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology today (Monday 29 June).
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), part of the National Institutes of Health, is using $5.4 million of Recovery Act funds to accelerate basic studies of induced pluripotent stem cells. These cells, abbreviated iPS, are reprogrammed from skin or other easily obtained adult cells and appear to be similar to stem cells derived from embryos.
Using the compound eyes of the humble moth as their inspiration, an international team of physicists has developed new nanoscale materials that could someday reduce the radiation dosages received by patients getting X-rayed, while improving the resolution of the resulting images.
Military health care providers now have a mobile application to help keep them productive and emotionally healthy as they cope with burnout and compassion fatigue.
