A team of researchers at Baylor College of Medicine, the Texas Heart Institute and Texas Children's Hospital has developed a powerful new approach to understand the formation of new neurons in the mammalian adult brain.
The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA), will recognize the outstanding contributions to improving the quality of life of people with Huntington's Disease (HD) by several individuals and two organizations at the 13th annual Guthrie Awards Dinner this Thursday.
A Professor who is investigating how modern body imaging techniques can be adapted to answer new questions - such as the anti-cancer properties of fish oils and green tea, or establishing cause of death in forensic investigation - is to give a free public lecture at the University of Leicester.
Veterans who served in military units characterized by a strong esprit de corps were much less likely decades later to die of a stroke or heart condition than veterans from less cohesive companies, two UCLA economists have found.
Researchers at the University of Cincinnati have received $2.4 million in federal funding to pursue research on a novel cell therapy that would repair heart damage using modified cells taken from the patient's own facial muscle.
