According to a U.S. study, giving a heart attack patient a statin drug as soon as possible reduces the chance he or she will die by 50 percent.
New findings from the Monell Center reveal that weight gain of formula-fed infants is influenced by the type of formula the infant is consuming. The findings have implications related to the infant's risk for the development of obesity, diabetes and other diseases later in life.
ActiveCare, Inc. and Vista Therapeutics, Inc. announced today a strategic relationship to develop Nano Biosensors for ActiveCare's products and services to be utilized by the elderly. These Biosensors will allow ActiveCare to continuously monitor specific chronic diseases commonly occurring in the elderly and thus preventively predict and avoid acute medical events. "This technology is designed to prolong and improve the quality of life of our senior population," stated James Dalton, President of ActiveCare.
A new study published this week in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine has found evidence that moderate amounts of coffee a day can improve longevity. This latest large study stretched over a decade and included around half a million people between ages 38 and 73 years from England, Wales and Scotland.
