Immunotherapy when used for cancer treatment could extend life longer finds studies. Experts have explained that until now immunotherapy was reserved as a last resort for most patients and treatment usually comprised of chemotherapy and radiation therapy failing which these were tried. In a pair of clinical trials, researchers have found that using immunotherapy as first line treatment can extend lives of these cancer patients.
Highland Therapeutics Inc., a pharmaceutical company, today announced it has completed a US$25 million offering of Class A Common Shares. The financing was led by a private equity partner that is committed to Highland's long-term success.
Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corporation announced today the launch of Trel-XPress Demineralized Bone Matrix, expanding its portfolio of bone grafting substitutes for the orthopedic extremity reconstruction surgeon, which includes Integra OS Osteoconductive Scaffold, a synthetic bone void filler manufactured from beta tri-calcium phosphate and type I bovine collagen; Trel-X, a demineralized bone matrix; and Trel-XC, a demineralized bone matrix premixed with cancellous bone.
By combining two modalities of imaging, investigators from Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth, led by Keith Paulsen, PhD with first author Michael Mastanduno and collaborators from Xijing Hospital in Xian, China, demonstrated that a dual breast exam using MRI and Near Infrared Spectral Tomography (NIRST) is feasible and more accurate than MRI alone.
Two PhD students, who secured sponsorship from leading medical device designer and manufacturer ITL, have revealed progress on the development of ground-breaking medical devices.
