There is not enough evidence to support using gels and creams containing rubefacients for chronic and acute pain, according to a systematic review by Cochrane Researchers. Rubefacients cause irritation and reddening of the skin, due to increased blood flow. The review focused on formulations containing salicylates, which are widely prescribed or sold over the counter as topical treatments for sports injuries and muscle pain.
OneLegacy, the non-profit, federally designated organ, eye and tissue recovery agency serving the seven-country greater Los Angeles area, today issued the following statement: "Kim Pham, the 23-year-old woman who died from her injuries after being assaulted outside a Santa Ana nightclub on Jan. 18, saved five lives through the donation of her heart, kidneys, lungs, pancreas and liver to patients on the national organ transplant waiting list.
Quintiles' ability to provide customers with actionable early-stage data to make better development decisions faster has taken a significant step forward with the closing of the previously announced agreement to acquire Advion BioServices, a premier U.S.-based bioanalytical laboratory.
