The George W. Bush Institute is forming a public-private partnership to use PEPFAR's existing infrastructure of doctors, nurses and clinics to expand screening and treatment of women for cervical cancer and perform breast cancer education in the developing world, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Rejection of any kind is always hard to deal with, but when one's body rejects a precious organ transplant, the consequences can be devastating. Professor A. Vathsala, Co-director of the National University Centre for Organ Transplantation at the National University Hospital and Professor of Medicine, shared that between 30% to 40% of kidney transplants are lost over time to rejection.
A study led by researchers at the University of Minnesota Medical School found a way to detect the presence of ovarian cancer in patients using Pap test samples, normally used to detect cervical cancer.
Cell Therapeutics, Inc. ("CTI") announced today that the Pediatric Committee (the "PDCO") of the European Medicines Agency ("EMA") has adopted an opinion agreeing to CTI's Pixuvri® (pixantrone dimaleate) Pediatric Investigation Plan ("PIP") for the treatment of lymphoid malignancies and solid tumors in children between ages of 6 months and 18 years.
