Sweden's acclaimed research on uterine transplants has taken a new step forward: into the field of health economics.
A new survey brings welcome news – drink driving in the U.S. is down by nearly 30% from its peak in 2006. This is in spite of the fact that an estimated 4 million Americans still admit to at least once having operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in about 112 million "alcohol impaired driving episodes" and thousands of fatalities, wrote researchers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in a paper published Tuesday in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
A study led by UCLA researchers found that adding ribociclib, a targeted therapy drug, to standard hormone therapy has been shown to significantly improve overall survival in postmenopausal women with advanced hormone-receptor positive/HER2- breast cancer, one of the most common forms of the disease.
The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) today commended the U.S. Senate Finance Committee for approving by unanimous, voice vote an amendment by U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) to lower health care costs through common-sense disclosure requirements for any pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) participating in the health insurance exchanges envisioned in Chairman Max Baucus' (D-MT) America's Healthy Future Act.
