Seno Medical Instruments, Inc., the company pioneering the development of opto-acoustic technology as a new tool to improve the process of diagnosing breast cancer, announced that the use of the Seno Imagio breast imaging system and the associated predictive model appear to have the potential to significantly improve the physicians' ability to accurately rule out breast cancer compared to traditional ultrasound alone.
Earlier this year, researchers at the University of Washington reported that they had developed a toxin-nanoparticle combination that inhibits brain cancer invasion when added to tumor cells growing in culture.
Nevirapine is considered to be an effective drug that can prevent HIV infection in babies born to mothers with HIV. However a new study shows that only about half of babies born to mothers with HIV receive the drug. The study appeared in the July 21 HIV/AIDS themed issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States has a plan to fast forward it's approval process for generic drugs.
