The push is on to enroll thousands of children who previously could not get health coverage or whose parents paid much higher premiums because of their children's pre-existing medical conditions. Under new federal rules that took effect last fall, children with chronic health conditions cannot be denied coverage.
Investigators at the University of Rochester Medical Center have uncovered a promising drug therapy that offers a ray of hope for children with Batten disease – a rare neurodegenerative disease that strikes seemingly healthy kids, progressively robs them of their abilities to see, reason and move, and ultimately kills them in their young twenties.
Although research has shown that teens with mental health disorders are more likely to engage in high risk sexual behaviors, like unprotected sex, a new study from the Bradley Hasbro Children's Research Center suggests there is an additional risk associated with certain psychiatric diagnoses.
EUCODIS Bioscience, a company developing, customizing, manufacturing, and marketing enzymes for the chemical industry, announced today that it has launched the first enzymes of its lipase portfolio. EUCODIS Bioscience currently offers 12 lipases that have been selected to cover a broad range of potential industrial applications.
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak has now spread outside China, affecting 47 countries.
