Johns Hopkins researchers have invented a new class of cancer immunotherapy drugs that are more effective at harnessing the power of the immune system to fight cancer.
The Associated Press and other news outlets report on state action on the health law's insurance exchanges as well as the Medicaid expansion.
New research to be published in tomorrow's issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) (Vol. 302, No. 11), by a team at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), shows that men diagnosed with prostate cancer beginning in the early 1990's had significantly improved survival outcomes compared with patients whose cancers were diagnosed in prior decades.
In this Lancet opinion piece, Ruchama Marton, president and founder of Physicians for Human Rights – Israel writes, "Everything one can say about the health-care system in Palestine was summed up by the physician and political leader Haidar Abdel-Shafi … in September, 1993. He said: 'We cannot take care of health and education as long as we live under occupation.'"
The Advanced Wound Management division of Smith & Nephew, Inc., a subsidiary of Smith & Nephew plc. notes the finding of the Patents Court of the High Court of Justice of England and Wales in the patent litigation brought by Kinetic Concepts, Inc.. In that case, the Court found that parts of the Smith & Nephew RENASYS™ EZ and RENASYS GO Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) Systems have infringed the patents EP0853950 and EP0777504 in the United Kingdom. Today the Court has given Smith & Nephew the right to Appeal this decision. Our full range of RENASYS products remains on the market."
