A new study has found that long term or continued use of acetaminophen or paracetamol during pregnancy is linked to a doubled risk of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The study entitled, "Prenatal Exposure to Acetaminophen and Risk of ADHD" was published in the latest issue of the journal Pediatrics.
AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that it has completed an End-of-Phase 2 meeting with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for ARX-02, a proprietary Sufentanil NanoTabâ„¢ Breakthrough Pain Management System for the treatment of cancer breakthrough pain in opioid-tolerant patients. FDA reviewed a package based on the previously announced positive Phase 2 clinical study results to date for ARX-02 and provided AcelRx with guidance on the Phase 3 program design and NDA requirements.
According to a new analysis of 36 different types of tumors and blood cancers that affect both sexes, men are more likely than women to get and die of cancer. The report shows that leukemia and cancers of the colon and rectum, pancreas, and liver killed about one and a half to two times as many men as women in the U.S. over a 30-year period. Lung cancer killed nearly two and a half times as many men during that time. According to the American Cancer Society men have about a 1 in 2 chance of developing cancer at some point in their lives, compared with women, who have a 1 in 3 chance.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today unveiled a report outlining the agency's plans to advance regulatory science through its Regulatory Science Initiatie.
