NCC Construction Sweden will construct the Nordic region's first clinic for advanced radiotherapy using proton treatment in Uppsala, Sweden. The customer is Akademiska Hus and the construction contract is valued at SEK 470 million. The project is being conducted as a partnership between NCC and Akademiska Hus.
Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) are considered the 'gold standard' research method for assessing new medical treatments. But research published in BioMed Central's open access journal Trials shows that the design of a remarkable 93 percent of 2235 so-called RCTs published in some Chinese medical journals during 1994 to 2005 was flawed, casting doubt on the reliability of research that is likely to influence medical decision-makers.
Officials say the moves would save the agency $58 million next year by changing how much it pays for some services and requiring agencies to prove their effectiveness.
