In an important new study from the forthcoming Quarterly Review of Biology, biologists from Binghamton University explore the evolution of two distinct types of laughter - laughter which is stimulus-driven and laughter which is self-generated and strategic.
"A White House plan to modernize the major U.S. food aid program ... is in trouble after fierce lobbying by farm groups, food processors, shippers and others who set out to sink the idea months before it was unveiled in President Barack Obama's fiscal 2014 budget [request]," Reuters reports in an article outlining opposition and support for the administration's effort to reform the Food for Peace program.
Calls to regionalize the care of patients with heart attacks are premature, and do not account for potential unintended consequences, according to a commentary by Yale researchers published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
One Medical Group, the national leader in technology-enabled primary care, today announced that it has raised $65 million of growth capital to support accelerated market expansion. The round was led by J.P. Morgan Asset Management on behalf of PEG Digital Growth Fund II L.P. and AARP Innovation Fund L.P. Current and new institutional and individual investors also participated.
