Researchers at Karolinska Institutet have identified a mechanism that can explain the impaired wound healing in diabetes which can lead to diabetic foot ulcers. The study is published in the scientific journal PNAS, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
New research by scientists at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences reveals that the immune system has an effective backup plan to protect the body from infection when the "master regulator" of the body's innate immune system fails.
Volcano Corporation today announced the publication of results from the PROSPECT (Providing Regional Observations to Study Predictors of Events in the Coronary Tree) study in The New England Journal of Medicine showing that grayscale intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Volcano's proprietary VH® IVUS tissue characterization software enable physicians to more accurately assess the risk of individual blockages than the use of the current standard-of-care- angiographic imaging- alone.
