Celldex Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that it has received a sublicense income payment of $3 million from TopoTarget A/S as a result of the recent co-development and commercialization agreement between TopoTarget and Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for Belinostat, a novel histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor for the treatment of cancer.
Using specialized CT scans of a healthy heart and one with heart disease, a team of Johns Hopkins cardiologists and biomedical engineers say they've created computer models of the "shape" of blood flow through the heart's upper left chamber that someday may help predict stroke risk.
A new paper in the February 17th edition of the journal Molecular Cell describes how exposure to low levels of antibiotics increases mutations in E. coli and Staphylococcus bacteria hundreds of times more than normal, making the creation of drug-resistant strains more likely.
Mayo Clinic nephrologists have uncovered a connection between first-time kidney stone formers and chronic kidney disease.
