Compared with commonly used clinical risk factors, a sophisticated type of artificial intelligence (AI) called deep learning does a better job distinguishing between the mammograms of women who will later develop breast cancer and those who will not, according to a new study in the journal Radiology.
EndoGastric Solutions (EGS), the leader in the emerging field of Natural Orifice Surgery (NOS), today reported that the 3,500th Natural Orifice Surgery (NOS) procedure was performed in front of the over 110 surgeons from seven countries attending the first Advanced Techniques in Transoral Fundoplication CME course, held January 28-29 in Denver, CO.
New research co-published by Saint Louis University and Express Scripts, Inc., suggests that men with multiple sclerosis may require more education and support to manage their disease and therapy than women with MS. Men also may benefit from more targeted adherence interventions.
Previous research has shown that personality traits such as impulsivity or compulsiveness are indicators of an increased risk of addiction. Now, new research from the University of Cambridge suggests that these impulsive and compulsive personality traits are also associated with a traumatic upbringing during childhood.
Few minorities in New York state are entering the health care field despite an increase in the number of minorities moving there, according to a study recently published by the University at Albany's Center for Health Workforce Studies, the Albany Times Union reports.
