Painkillers considered harmless by the general public are associated with increased risk of cardiac arrest, according to research published today in the March issue of European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy.
Young women who are treated for Hodgkin lymphoma with chest radiation therapy have a high cumulative absolute risk of developing breast cancer later in life. This risk increases with age at end of follow-up, time since diagnosis, and radiation dose, according to a new study in the October 5 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
U.S. researchers examined the genetic profiles of more than 1,100 urban children of different races, averaging around 3 years of age, and found that black children were more likely to have allergic antibodies to food allergens. The study also found that African ancestry was linked with levels of allergic antibodies to peanut typically associated with clinical peanut allergies.
Electromed, Inc., which is a leader in developing innovative airway clearance therapy products for use by patients with compromised pulmonary function, today announced pricing of its initial public offering of 1,700,000 shares of common stock at a price of $4.00 per share, before underwriting discounts and commissions.
