Scientists from The Scripps Research Institute have discovered that two estrogen-mimicking compounds found in many foods appear to potently reverse the effects of palbociclib/letrozole, a popular drug combination for treating breast cancer.
In the Center for Global Development's "Global Health Policy"(CGD) blog, Victoria Fan, a CGD research fellow, and Rachel Silverman, a research assistant for the CGD global health team, examine the potential reasons behind "the U.S. government's apparent lack of support, particularly its legislated 'opt-in' stance," on the Affordable Medicines Facility for Malaria (AMFm), and they note "AMFm's continued survival is all but impossible without an explicit endorsement by the U.S. Global Malaria Coordinator who leads the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative."
According to an article in the current edition of the prestigious medical journal The Lancet, Professor Roy Meadow should not be found guilty of serious professional misconduct.
Edward-Elmhurst Health and the University of Chicago Medicine have reached an agreement to expand access to advanced subspecialty care for infants and children in west and southwest suburban communities. The affiliation will bring nationally recognized UChicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital experts across a dozen pediatric subspecialties to new outpatient clinics at Edward Hospital in Naperville and Elmhurst Hospital.
