Gender-affirming hormone therapy is the bedrock of medical therapy for many transgender and gender diverse individuals. Boca Pharmacal, Inc., today announced that it has received approval from the FDA of its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Methimazole Tablets USP, 5mg and 10mg, the generic version of King Pharmaceuticals' Tapazole® Methimazole tablets, indicated to treat hyperthyroidism.
In a latest development, researchers from Chile have come up with a vaccine to cure alcoholics. It will help them kick the habit by creating a sensation of a terrible hangover after just a few drinks. The mechanism by which this vaccine acts is by neutralizing a group of enzymes that help the body to break down alcohol. When the enzymes aldehyde dehydrogenase is disabled the body accumulates the alcohol to create the hangovers after just a few drinks.
Vaccinating older adults for COVID-19 first will save substantially more U.S. lives than prioritizing other age groups, and the slower the vaccine rollout and more widespread the virus, the more critical it is to bring them to the front of the line.
