While health officials have long suspected the link between obesity and soda consumption, research released today provides the first scientific evidence of the potent role soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages play in fueling California's expanding girth.
eClinicalWorks and Healthwise announced today an agreement to provide two Healthwise solutions to eClinicalWorks physician clients. Healthwise Information Therapy (Ix) Patient Instructions, take-home patient educational materials, integrates within the eClinicalWorks EMR; and the Healthwise Knowledgebase, an online health information library, has patient-specific connections within the eClinicalWorks secure Patient Portal.
Chemotherapy drugs to treat breast cancer may promote muscle mitochondrial dysfunction, according to new research. Dysfunctional mitochondria, the energy centers of the cells, may contribute to fatigue and weakness that some people with breast cancer experience through the course of disease treatment.
Working in a mouse model, the researchers isolated a novel type of lung cell that can divide into fresh copies of itself and into the two more specialized kinds of cells deep in the lung.
