An assistant professor at the University of California, Riverside's Bourns College of Engineering has recently received a $360,000 grant to better organize enzymes on electrodes to create nanoscale devices that more efficiently convert the chemical energy of sugars and complex carbohydrates in to electricity.
ImmunoGen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that develops targeted anticancer therapeutics, today announced the presentation of encouraging initial clinical findings with SAR3419 at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) 51st Annual Meeting and Exposition. Among the findings reported were responses to SAR3419 – administered as a single agent – among patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that is refractory to treatment with rituximab (Rituxan®).
As a researcher at Harvard Medical School, Christopher W. Cowan, Ph.D., used to watch autistic kids come onto campus to attend a special school.
After Congress failed in its recent attempt to cut off federal funding, lawmakers in several states are taking aim at the organization. Meanwhile, the House voted Wednesday to ban teaching health centers from using federal dollars to train physicians on how to perform abortions.
