The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) recently selected Elizabeth A. Brunton, R.N., M.S.N., O.C.N., of Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, Calif., as the recipient of the 2010 ASTRO Nurse Excellence Award.
New progress has been made on the road to understanding the origins of genetic changes in tumour cells. The prevalent theory has been that genetic changes in tumour cells come about in multiple stages over a long time.
