In a discovery that could give physicians more control over the actions of medications, researchers at Duke University Medical Center have developed a novel drug pair – a potent anti-coagulant with a matched "antidote."
Nabi Biopharmaceuticals announced today that the closing requirements set forth in the exclusive option and license agreement for NicVAX® (Nicotine Conjugate Vaccine), dated November 13, 2009 with GlaxoSmithKlineBiologicals S.A. have been met and the companies have closed the agreement.
New public opinion surveys released today by the nonprofit Alliance for Aging Research show that public awareness about heart valve disease (HVD) in the U.S. is alarmingly low.
Folic acid deficiency can cause severe health problems in offspring, including spina bifida, heart defects and placental abnormalities. A study out today reveals that a mutation in a gene necessary for the metabolism of folic acid not only impacts the immediate offspring but can also have detrimental health effects on the next several generations.
