A new study suggests that a genetic fingerprint associated with normal embryonic stem cells may be important for the development and function of cancer stem cells.
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Board of Governors today approved about $18 million to fund two studies comparing different ways to manage the transition of people with sickle cell disease from pediatric to adult care.
To be suitable for medical transplantation, one idea is that human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) need to remain "undifferentiated" i.e. they are not changing into other cell types.
Anyone who has drifted into a fuzzy-headed stupor after a large holiday meal is familiar with the condition commonly known as a "food coma."
A new study from Bournemouth University has investigated how to increase protein intake in older people living in the community.
