Drug users are well informed about the harms associated with the drugs they use, and perceive alcohol and tobacco to be amongst the most dangerous substances, according to a survey by UCL (University College London) and Imperial College London researchers.
Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced positive top-line results from its IMPRESS (The Investigation for Maximal Peyronie's Reduction Efficacy and Safety Studies) trials, the phase III studies that assessed XIAFLEX (collagenase clostridium histolyticum or CCH), a novel, in-office, first-in-class biologic therapy for the potential treatment of Peyronie's disease (PD).
A recent review published in the journal Global Challenges in October 2020, sums up what is currently known about the treatment of COVID-19 during pregnancy and offers recommendations for how healthcare professions might better manage pregnant COVID-19 patients in the future.
A new study in the March issue of Anesthesiology suggests epidural analgesia (EA) may be a more effective component in the perioperative care of patients undergoing elective open colorectal surgery than the proposed alternative, continuous wound infiltration of local anesthetics (CWI).
New research from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has found that an alternative therapy may be possible for treating some types of hypertension using an enzyme called ACE2.
