The Wall Street Journal: "A national push to increase research to find out which medical treatments work best for which patients is gaining momentum, even though many worry the findings may be used to ration care.
Response Biomedical Corporation announced today the signing of a subscription agreement providing for the sale of C$8 million of its common shares to funds affiliated with OrbiMed Advisors, LLC. The closing of the private placement is subject to receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, including the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange and the shareholders of the Company.
New research on contraceptive prevalence and unmet need for contraception in married or co-habiting women of reproductive age (15 – 49 years), based on data from 194 countries, suggests that although the proportion of women in this group using contraception has risen in the last two decades, and unmet need has fallen, 233 million married or co-habiting women are projected to have an unmet need for modern contraceptive methods by 2015.
In a Statement of Principles unveiled today, The Endocrine Society proposes a streamlined definition for endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and offers recommendations that will strengthen the ability of current screening programs to identify EDCs.
