ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is among the costliest of behavioral disorders. Its combination of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity leads to accidental injuries, school failure, substance abuse, antisocial behavior and more. Yet despite nearly a century of study, the disorder's roots remain mysterious.
Assured Pharmacy, a leading specialty pharmacy group providing prescription medications to sufferers of chronic pain, announced net sales of $4,169,807 for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, an increase of $211,229 or 5.3%, from $3,958,578 for the second quarter of 2010.
Using an animal model, researchers demonstrated that simian foamy virus can be transmitted through blood from one non-human primate to another. Although this virus is not known to cause disease or health conditions in people or animals, this new research identifies an emerging issue related to the safety and adequacy of Canada's blood supply.
