Studies have found an association between insufficient sleep and the development of insulin resistance, one of the factors that cause type 2 diabetes, and now researchers have discovered a biological reason for this relationship, at least in men: an imbalance between their testosterone and cortisol hormones.
he Lactation Foundation, a WIC (Women, Infants and Children Program) breastfeeding resource and training center, has been recognized for excellence in care by the International Lactation Consultant Association and the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners© (IBLCE).
The Gerontological Society of America and Senior Service America, Inc., have named Tetyana P. Shippee, PhD, of the University of Minnesota as the 2015 recipient of the Senior Service America Senior Scholar Award for Research Related to Disadvantaged Older Adults.
