Even modest increases in blood levels of triglycerides, as well as a type of high cholesterol known as type III hyperlipidemia, are strongly associated with coronary artery disease in people with a family history of the disease, according to a new study in the April 5, 2005, issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
Thursday, October 15, 2009 marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, the first of 288 Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries and regions throughout the world, and of four in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
Infants with prenatal exposure to antipsychotics show significant reductions in neuromotor performance compared with other children, US researchers report.
It's called the obesity paradox. Although obese people are more apt to suffer from inflammatory diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke, they are also more likely to survive a major attack caused by one of those conditions.
