A new study demonstrates that wearing an N95 respirator or cloth mask does not limit the capacity to conduct physical exercise among adults.
While regulations have been put in place to restrict the work hours of doctors in training, no such regulations exist for fully trained physicians. An editorial in this week's New England Journal of Medicine argues that sleep-deprived physicians should not be permitted to proceed with an elective surgery without a patient's informed, written consent.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia celebrated the grand opening of its Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care. The Family Fall Festival and ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on November 7, was designed to recognize the 4,200 donors – more than 1,300 of them CHOP employees – who helped raise over $96 million towards design and construction of the Buerger Center, the nation's most advanced outpatient facility for pediatric care.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says chickens infected with a highly pathogenic H7N3 strain of avian influenza on a farm in Saskatchewan have all been destroyed.
