Rules-Based Medicine, Inc. (RBM) today announced the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) has granted it a Company Commercialization Award to expand and enhance the OncologyMAP™ program for discovery and development of novel diagnostic and prognostic cancer tests. The award of approximately $3 million will fund research and development to more than double the number of cancer-associated biomarker assays in RBM's new OncologyMAP™ product.
The Mississippi Coastal Health Information Exchange (MSCHIE) has launched Phase 2 of its HIE deployment - which will expand its services to four additional health systems, launch a community outreach training program, and integrate with additional EHR vendors throughout the community - marking a major milestone in its efforts to improve patient care coordination and clinical outcomes in the Mississippi counties hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina.
Most people have intense emotional reactions to traumatizing events like road accidents or combat. But some suffer far longer, caught in the grip of long-term debilitating disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Because doctors cannot predict who will develop these disorders, however, early or preventive intervention is not available. Now, a new project led by researchers at Tel Aviv University seeks to identify pre-traumatic subjects - those who are more susceptible to long-standing disorders if exposed to a traumatic incident.
