Lynn College of Nursing, and Charles E. A scientific study indicates that the lives of 400 Swedes could be saved annually if measures were taken to prevent side effects of pharmaceuticals. Now these researchers in Sweden, at the Nordic School of Public Health (NHV) and elsewhere, have reviewed randomly selected deaths in three Swedish counties and found that 14 percent of these deaths could have been avoided if a drug had been replaced or if the dosage had been lowered.

More than half of the jobs - or about 430 - will be throughout UPMC's network of 20 hospitals. They include physicians, nurses, food service workers, housekeepers and administrators, said Rob DeMichiei, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Patients who have chronic kidney disease but are not on dialysis have higher out-of-pocket healthcare expenses than even stroke and cancer patients, according to a study by researchers at Loyola University Chicago and Loyola Medicine.
