Public Health Minister, Yvette Cooper, will today announce a £60 million boost to tackle child poverty in low income areas even before children are born. The money will extend Sure Start programmes to cover pregnant women and their partners for the first time alongside families with children under four-years-old.
A new study finds liver cancer incidence rates continue to increase in some low-risk parts of the world such as North America, and are decreasing in some of the highest risk countries of Asia.
Loughborough University is leading a multi-million-pound research program to establish if a 'snacktivity' approach to physical activity, where people are encouraged to undertake short bursts of physical activity throughout the day, is effective in improving people's health.
