Conceptus, Inc., developer of the Essure® procedure, the first proven non-incisional permanent birth control method available, today announced that the clinical success of the Essure® procedure will be highlighted at the 18th Annual Congress of the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) in Florence, Italy from October 28-31, 2009.
A Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services official testified on Capitol Hill Wednesday that 80 percent of this type of fee-for-service Medicare claim should not have been paid.
"GlaxoSmithKline's HIV/AIDS drugs business is to share intellectual property rights on children's medicine in a patent pool designed to make treatments more widely available in poor countries," Reuters reports.
Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine have created an experimental blood test that, for the first time, determines a "Bioenergetic Health Index," or BHI, by gauging the performance of mitochondria, the cell's energy powerhouses.
