Clovis Oncology, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on acquiring, developing and commercializing innovative anti-cancer agents, and Avila Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company designing targeted covalent drugs, announced today an agreement for the development and commercialization of Avila's epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutant-selective inhibitor (EMSI) program, currently in pre-clinical development for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
It is possible to have breaks in long-term medication against hormone-sensitive breast cancer - without the effect of the treatment appearing to have been influenced. Women also feel better if they take a three-month break from the hormone treatment each year, according to a medication study reported in The Lancet.
While it is well known that a majority of hip fracture patients of all ages and both sexes have insufficient or deficient levels of vitamin D, a new study presented today at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons looks at whether or not living in a warm, sunny climate improves patient vitamin D levels.
A new population-based study from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston showed for the first time that exposure to testosterone therapy over a five-year period was not associated with an increased risk of aggressive prostate cancer. Further, risk of high-grade prostate cancer did not increase according to the total number of testosterone injections.

At least that's how children from around the world will likely view it as they get set for four consecutive days of yoga, April 22-25, 2010. It's all part of Children Helping Children, a worldwide, coordinated effort to bring relief to Haiti's children.
