The use of orally activated Xa antagonist and direct thrombin inhibitors is associated with a significant increase in major bleeding events in acute coronary syndrome patients, a study shows.
Sanofi announced today that it has submitted a New Drug Application (NDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its investigational fixed-ratio combination of insulin glargine 100 Units/mL and lixisenatide, which if approved would be administered as a single daily injection for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes.
IRIN examines the efforts of the Geneva-based Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) to develop less costly surveillance equipment to improve the ability to detect the parasitic disease trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) in endemic countries.
Houston Methodist researchers developed a new lab-on-a-chip technology that could quickly screen possible drugs to repair damaged neuron and retinal connections, like what is seen in people with macular degeneration or who've had too much exposure to the glare of electronic screens.
