One of the most common acquired heart diseases in the over 75's is aortic valve stenosis. Normally, it requires the replacement of the valve.
Researchers at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine have discovered that a natural product isolated from a traditional Chinese medicinal plant commonly known as thunder god vine, or lei gong teng, and used for hundreds of years to treat many conditions including rheumatoid arthritis works by blocking gene control machinery in the cell. The report, published as a cover story of the March issue of Nature Chemical Biology, suggests that the natural product could be a starting point for developing new anticancer drugs.
STD Med, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has received a second Certificate of Good Practices for Manufacturing of Class III Medical Devices from ANVISA, the Brazilian National Surveillance Agency (Agencia Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria –ANVISA).
Cancer cells can develop resistance to therapy through both genetic and non-genetic mechanisms. But it is unclear how and why one of these routes to resistance prevails.
Alcon announced today results from a Phase III clinical trial demonstrating that olopatadine nasal spray, a nasal formulation of its market leading ophthalmic anti-allergy product, Patanol(R) ophthalmic solution, reduced seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) symptoms compared to placebo.
