By measuring the total gene activity in organs relevant for coronary artery disease (CAD), scientists at the Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet have identified a module of genes that is important for the recruitment of white blood cells into the atherosclerotic plaque.
Most patients who undergo radical prostatectomy are keen to attend a rehabilitation program to help recover sexual potency, but the process can be frustrating and demanding, with high patient dropout rates, say researchers.
Bipolar I disorder patients who are in remission display increased coupling between brain regions involved in regulating emotions, even in the absence of a psychological task, shows a US study.
