The first World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education will be held in Columbia, S.C., April 29-May 1, bringing together physicians, medical students, educators and health care professionals from around the world to learn more about the technology known as the "stethoscope of the future."
In 2010, the American Society of Anesthesiologists® (ASA®) introduced a mannequin-based simulation program to satisfy the American Board of Anesthesiology requirements for Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA).
Eating a Mediterranean diet and following national recommendations for physical activity are each associated with a reduced risk of death over a five-year period, according to two reports in the December 10/24 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
Birmingham will be at the forefront of developments in childhood cancer research thanks to the launch of a new team which will co-ordinate groundbreaking clinical trials across the UK.
Recent years have seen exciting progress in key areas of research on autism spectrum disorders (ASD): from possible genetic causes, to effective treatments for common symptoms and clinical problems, to promoting success for young people with ASD entering college. Updates on these and other advances in ASD research are presented in the March special issue of Harvard Review of Psychiatry.
